object of study
Memoria Information System

Defines what is studied and represented in an output.

An object of study can be a natural or manufactured object of heritage significance, or any other focus or target of the research activity (e.g., documentation, time, structure of scientific disciplines, processes mobilized in scientific research, phenomenon, language).
An object of study should be - if possible - associated to a category corresponding to the concept of scale and characterised by some basic taxonomical and geographical information.
In case the object of study cannot be associated with some spatial information (e.g., time oriented data, uncertainty factors, pieces of literature, …) the object of study falls into the category ‘other’.

Note that one object of study may be associated to one or more outputs.

e.g., ensemble of edifices of the Main Market Square in Krakow, Pont Saint-Bénezet – Avignon, time oriented data
