parallel activities
Memoria Information System

Parallel activities build a particular form of chains that result in more intricate structures (elements of arborescence). They should be used to represent activities carried out autonomously but in a parallel manner.
They can be activities the addition of which is mandatory for a sequence to be continued - in that case, their results co-trigger the next element of a chain. Alternatively, they can be parallel results of a given node, in that case the result of activity triggers the existence of two or more child activities carried out in parallel.
Parallel activities are most often carried out ‘at the same time’ but rarely by the same actors.

e.g., one person is photographing an object while the other one proceeds to laser distant measurement
