publication
One or several outputs delivered to a given public in the context of a formal event or of a formal publication initiative. A publication is always public and context driven. It presents or sums up experiences, pieces of knowledge in a systematic and organised way. It is a self-explanatory result - it can be interpreted and understood by a reader without any additional assistance or a supplementary document.

A publication may combine outputs and compositions according to an objective defined by:
- a context of publication (i.e., the circumstances in which the publication took place, e.g., conference, exhibition, lecture, demo),
- an audience (i.e., the public affected/concerned by the publication, e.g., scientific article, wide public, visually impaired people),
- operators/final users (i.e., organisations that are supposed to use it, e.g., museum, UIA),
- a project (i.e., the project the publication results from, e.g., publication of a book), or
- a technological framework (i.e., set of tools/software used in order to produce the publication, e.g., web, smartphones, tablets).

e.g., a journal article, a book, a commercial CD-ROM, an on-line website
